We had a good Zoom this month and most people managed to make a spiral book, ‘though we did not attempt a cover due to time constraints. Instructions are now available in this blog if anyone would like to make it again. It comes from a book by Heather Weston entitled “Bookcraft`” but this is now out of print, although copies may be available second hand.
Lots of work was shared by members, including drawings, drypoint, paintings and embroidery as well as books. Our last theme, remnants, was well represented, and we chose the next theme which is Autumn, suggested by Jane. As always, have a go if you are inspired.
Many people shared concerns about the lack of inspiration during
lockdown, and this seems to be a common experience amongst all the art
community. For some of us it ebbs and flows, for some it is lacking
altogether, and for some it has remained constant.
News also from Antigoni, who is in Greece for a couple of months.
Gregory is growing well and she must be so pleased to be able to show
him off to her Greek family.
Marilyn has recorded part of the meeting , so if anyone wants to watch
it please email her and she will send it. Do be aware that it is a very
big file, and runs to the end of the meeting because handling Zoom
whilst demonstrating and recording is a big ask! If anyone feels able to
host one of the meetings, or has an idea we can all work on together,
please let Marilyn know in time enforcement the November meeting.
