We met late in April rather than May, avoiding both the Coronation and Eurovision weekends, which made travelling into Liverpool easier for many of us.
Marilyn showed us how to make a Sketchbook and cover from a recycled hardback book. The sketchbook is refillable, and is a great way to recycle old hardbacks recovered from Charity shops or other sources. The text block, which we removed, can be used for various mixed media projects, or simply recovered with a limp binding and passed on once read.
At the show and tell session we enjoyed various books on the theme of ‘small’, including contributions from Rose, Marilyn and Chris; this has been a popular theme and several members have work in progress.
Our chosen theme for the next two months is 'Texture'.
Marilyn will pick up the work form the Atkinson exhibition this week and return it in July, but please contact her if you need it more urgently.
Our June session will be led by Julie who will be demonstrating a variation on a piano hinge.
More details will be mailed out in the week prior to the meeting.
